HR Manager visit regularly to see the welfare of the workers and their family. In addition to a human resources manager who visits regularly to check on the welfare of the workers and their families, an onsite doctor, midwife and day care are provided by the Tea Estate Management. The tea estate management provides the workers are provided with housing, food for children of up to age of 5, and basic food for up to age of 12. Expectant mothers are provided with transportation to a hospital, a substantial amount of money and maternity leave. On site, a clinic looks after the needs of the mothers. Quality Control A great amount of TLC follows our tea from the time the leaves are picked off the tea plant until it reaches our cups. Specially trained workers know only to hand pick leaves that are ready for harvest, and to only pick a certain percentage of leaves from each shrub so that the health of the plant is maintained. Each worker's harvest is weighed and taken to the factory for withering. During this process each batch receives special attention to attain an exact, even moisture content. The next morning the leaves are ready to be rolled, crushed, graded, fermented and, finally, dried to attain the perfect moisture content. At each stage an expert supervisor ensures that the tea is ready for the next stage in the process. It's this regularized and systematic process that makes us confident that only tea of the highest quality bears the Tea Range label. |
